26.05.30I love it an my kids did to .
26.05.21Great location close to all facilities
26.04.27Every time I stay here, never disappoints. I never wanna leave. The gentleman who is usually there at evening times, forgive me I forgot his name, but always is so helpful and wonderful.
26.03.07This place has some nostalgia, it is the oldest hotel on the strip. The lobby is actually very pleasant. The front desk staff is top notch and they go above and beyond to be friendly and helpful.
The restaurant (cafe Calabria) was excellent! Again, the bartenders, waitstaff, entertainment, and owner are amazing. They all make you feel like part of the family. The food was fantastic and prices reasonable.
There is an outdoor tiki bar/restaurant that is a lot of fun however, this is where the hotel should step up their game a bit. We went to this restaurant several times and each time we went we had problems with extremely slow service, entrees or drinks that were forgotten, undercooked food etc.
The staff (bartenders and servers) are extremely nice, unfortunately tho, the servers miss the mark.
The tiki bar/restaurant also allows smoking under the pavilion. This was incredibly bothersome. People were smoking at their tables where everyone is eating around them. The smoke was horribly intrusive and impossible to escape. For this reason alone, we probably won’t stay here again.
The other downside to this hotel is the pool area. It’s just gross. The pool water seemed to have a layer of oil floating on top. I also can’t count how many bandaids and other bits I can’t describe I saw floating around the pool.
The pool also loses its sun by about 3:00pm because the tall hotel blocks it.
The location on the beach and beach access is amazing. You can’t beat it.
The location itself is also very convenient and walkable to McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, CVS, Winn Dixie, and several restaurants. It is also a short walk to Lauderdale by the sea.
We really wanted to love this hotel because we were so impressed with the owner, Cafe Calabria, and the front desk staff.
But for us, it is just a couple marks shy. I think for a younger crowd or young family it might be fine. We will definitely go back to Cafe Calabria, but we won’t stay at the hotel again.
26.02.22We chose to stay in Fort Lauderdale for a couple of days before our cruise since it was our first time visiting. I am glad we only booked a short stay. Unfortunately, the room did not meet expectations. It had very limited amenities with no table and chairs, no couch, and not even a comfortable chair to sit in and relax.
The bathroom also had no vanity space because the room was an ADA accessible room, which we did not request. Had we known, we would have asked to change rooms, but since we were only here briefly and mainly focused on our upcoming cruise, we decided to make the best of it.
The most disappointing part of our stay, however, was that the shower only provided cold water. After a long day of travel and exploring, not having hot water was extremely frustrating.
