26.04.09The Livemax Umeda Hotel is quite close to Osaka Station, making it convenient for us to travel to Kyoto. The hotel is well-equipped, clean, and hygienic, which is really great.

26.03.09One of the ladies at the reception was very rude. Our check-in time was at 3 PM, but we arrived two hours early. I asked them if they could keep my suitcases in the lobby, and I said I would be back in 2–3 hours. The man at the reception was very kind and agreed to keep my baggage.
When I came back to the hotel after two hours, that man was no longer there. A lady at the reception suddenly told me that some other man had taken my baggage. I was very worried and at the same time very angry. I told her that I would call the police. Then she said she would check one more time. She went inside and came back with my baggage.
So yes, it was a pretty bad experience. I would not recommend going to this hotel.
26.03.08The room was good and clean, but the staff was extremely rude. We arrived around 12nn before the check in time and politely asked if we could leave our luggage so we could roam around the city and come back later. One Japanese lady spoke to us in Japanese in a very rude tone. When I tried speaking in English, she loudly said, “Only Japanese, only Japanese.” If you are accepting foreign guests, the staff should at least know basic English. You cannot assume that every tourist can speak Japanese, especially if they are only staying for a short time. Another issue happened with my friend’s luggage. She insisted that someone had taken it, and we argued and talked with her for about 15 minutes because we were very worried. She kept insisting that someone took the luggage. When I told my friend to call our Japanese friend for help or maybe call the police, she suddenly said she would check again and asked if the luggage had a name tag. A few moments later, she brought it out and simply said, “I’m sorry.” The room itself is fine, but the way the staff handled the situation was very unprofessional and stressful for us.
