26.01.10Hotel location is just next to the Aizuwakamatsu train station and bus terminal. Beside the hotel is a supermarket. Nearby has another supermarket (just a short 5minutes walk). You get everything you need from there. Many eateries around. Hotel staffs are friendly. Interior of the room is old school but it has everything that you need. Room is clean and I have no issues sleeping well at night.
26.01.10Despite its prime location next to Aizu-Wakamatsu Station, Ekimae Fuji Grand Hotel was a major disappointment.
The interior is extremely old, dated, and run-down, from the lobby with no seating area for guests and all the way to the guest rooms. The room itself was unexpectedly tiny for this location and did not meet basic comfort expectations.
All public areas in the building were unheated and freezing cold, making it very uncomfortable to move around the hotel. Only two lifts serve all floors; both were slow, poorly maintained, and visibly dirty.
Breakfast was particularly miserable. Guests must choose between a Japanese or Western set, served in a dining area located beneath a Chinese restaurant on the 3rd floor. The Western breakfast was served with chopsticks only—no fork or spoon provided—which felt careless and unprofessional.
The onsen is not located within the hotel building. Instead, guests are given a voucher to use a separate, equally old and run-down onsen facility about a five-minute walk away, which is inconvenient, especially in cold winter.
I regret cancelling my *** booking, which is also a short walk from the station and likely would have been a more comfortable stay. I was misled by Agoda’s high ratings for this hotel. With such a prime location, the property urgently needs a full revamp. Until then, it is simply not worth the stay.
25.12.31stayed for two days, visited both tadami line and ouchijuku during winter. Very near to aizu wakamatsu station. Room is spacious compared to A*A hotel. Also got free entrance ticket to nearby ofuro too.
25.12.22I enjoyed my stay here for four nights. The hotel provides guests with free entry to a public bath across the hotel.
There is a ramen shop at the lobby where you can also find the coin laundry machines.
I believe you can also rent bicycles at the hotel.
A supermarket is just across the hotel. The city loop buses and ticket office are located in front of the hotel.
The bathroom can be a little cold because of the "tiled" walls and floors. The hotel also uses the old-style key to enter the room.
One of the cheapest hotels at time of booking.
