26.03.16The pretty picture of the patio by the river is why I booked the room, a nice little place to work from. Well, it is not part of the amenities. It's part of an independent restaurant called Las Lap, it's closed off and doesn't open until 5pm. We were told we were not allowed to go in.
The "Deluxe King Room" was a small room. There is a king bed and 3 feet of space around it. Nice enough bathroom. There is a small desk. The only amenity that is part of the hotel is a small pool on the rooftop that used to be a hot tub according to the signs. It's a pretty little space but there is no table to sit at, a few lounge chairs on one side and the "balcony rooms" chairs on the other side.
The coffee shop hours are unclear. It was closed Friday morning, opened late on Saturday, wasn't opened by checkout time on Sunday. There was a space on the rooftop that used to have a bar but it was cordoned-off and doesn't look like it's being used. There was another space by the lobby but it was closed off with curtains and cordoned-off.
The hotel seems to be an overflow for the convention center. The room was nicely decorated. If you just need a place to sleep, that might work for you.
There aren't that many places to eat right around there, you'll have to walk a few blocks to find a coffee shop or restaurants. It's a couple of blocks from the beach. They offer beach chairs for free with the room but the hotel is on 21st street and the chairs are on 15th street. It may not be a deal breaker but it's good to know in advance.
We were there 3 nights, they didn't clean the room, or replenished the coffee, I had to ask twice to get more coffee pods.
It's a "self-check-in" situation. You have to wrestle with the iPad at the entrance, enter your Driver's License, address, name, etc, in my case, it was late and dark so you have to provide your own light if you want to read the numbers on your ID, then the iPad instruct you to scan a QR code on your phone to pay $0.02 cents, I'm assuming for a deposit but the iPad didn't say. Then you have to re-enter all your information again, name, address, credit card information, etc. on your phone. Then a guy magically appears and give you instructions for your room number and access code via WhatsApp, which you follow with a #, but the door doesn't have a #, it has a check mark. Shocking after all that. After a long day of travel, this multi-steps check-in really felt cumbersome. This is no Airbnb self-check-in. They make you work instead of having a desk person, which felt very cheap.
For an hotel room of that price range, my expectations were a little higher than that.

26.05.13I’m really happy I chose to stay here. The location was great, the room felt very cozy, and the bed was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The hotel itself seems to operate mostly through self check-in and check-out, so it’s best to think of it more as a self-service or semi-unmanned hotel. Some people might see that as less service-oriented, but personally I loved the quiet atmosphere, reasonable price, and convenient location.
What truly made my experience even better was the manager, Darrell. He kindly helped me with check-in and always responded to every request with genuine kindness and effort. He really went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and stress-free. Honestly, he’s the best.
One small thing to note is that some of the facilities shown in the photos seem to belong more to the restaurant area and may not actually be available for hotel guests. However, the hotel room itself and the rooftop pool were both really great.
Overall, I had such a comfortable and happy stay, and I’m really glad I stayed here.

26.04.20This is not a hotel. It’s basically a restaurant with improvised rooms. There is no reception or proper staff: you have to handle check-in and check-out yourself, and there is almost never anyone available to help.
Customer service is nonexistent. When you need something, there is no one to assist you.
The room was unacceptable: no windows, extremely humid, and barely livable. It looks nothing like the photos. This is clearly misleading advertising.
The “pool” on the rooftop is ridiculously small and does not match what they promote. Also, many of the areas shown in the pictures are simply not accessible to guests.
To make matters worse, the property had a different name online than the one at arrival. They had already changed the name, yet tried to blame us for “booking the wrong place,” even though it was the same address and they had our reservation details. It is their responsibility to keep their listing information accurate and updated.
When we asked to change rooms, they refused to help and told us to deal with Agoda, where we also received no response. Complete lack of support.
In summary: poor management, bad conditions, and zero service. I would not recommend this place under any circumstances. There are much better options for the same price.
