Picked this place for its outdoor onsen and the lake view. We couldn’t arrive earlier but checked in at about 7pm so we couldn’t fully explore the beauty of this hotel but it is beautiful in every corner especially its Japanese zen garden. All the staff are very courteous and we were being looked after all the time. We love the quick tour around the hotel shown by a very polite and helpful staff after the check in. Great breakfast. The kaiseki dinner was not in the style I expected which was very fine delicate in terms of presentation but the serve was very generous and flavoursome and the ingredients used were in great quality especially the local ingredients. The onsen itself…. You could see some high rise buildings around the outdoor onsens with some trees providing screening. There is nothing the hotel could do about this. The bath itself is relaxing and the garden deco around it is nice. Thanks for giving us a lovely stay in the beautiful room facing the lake. Will come back again.

Staff were friendly and helpful, able to communicate in English. They helped with our luggage on-forwarding service. Our room was huge, albeit with only a partial view of Suwa-ko as we were assigned a low floor. Overall lovely hotel.

I've never stayed in an onsen hotel before and I was surprised at how grand the place felt. Though I didn't get to use their onsen facilities, I'd recommend staying here just from their room alone. I stayed in the smallest room and it was quite spacious for a single person, but may be cramped for two. Staff were friendly and even escorted me to my room while explaining about their facilities on the way. The location is a bit of a walk from Kami-Suwa station but it's doable. Would stay again.

The location was fantastic, making easy to enjoy the lake on foot and nearby à boat and bike rental. The facilities were top notch and the room só spacious and comfortable. The water was generous, good pressure and hot. The staff was friendly but wasn’t aware that there was a bike rental on the vicinity. Everything seemed very clean and well maintained.
