There may not be closer lodging to Midway Airport, it's that close to the airport entrance. But this was probably the ickiest motel I've spent. the night in. I have to say everything *looked* clean, except for the weird greasy floor. The floor was consistently greasy everywhere, so it may be some cleaning product they use, as I didn't see any signs of dirt, but it still added to the already-immense ick factor. If this gives you any idea: I decided I needed to sleep with my clothes on because the room was so desperate-seeming, like something out of CSI, and I never took my shoes off except after I sat in the bed and swung my feet out of my shoes into bed, because under no circumstances was I going to let my socks or feet touch the greasy floor. I'm sorry to be honest here. It was my only option and it served the most important purpose: I got 5 hours or sleep before my flight.
