A few days before my arrival, I contacted the hotel via Agoda Customer Service to request an early check-in, as I would be arriving from Sapa early in the morning. The request was approved, and importantly, no additional charges were mentioned despite my explicit inquiry. However, upon arrival, a young receptionist informed me that a partial fee would be required for early check-in. Although this contradicted the prior confirmation, I agreed to pay. Later the same day, another staff member—an older man at the reception—insisted that I must pay the full rate for an additional night instead. When I presented the message confirming my approved early check-in, he refused to acknowledge it entirely. I requested to speak with a supervisor, but he claimed he was the person in charge and dismissed my concerns. I was left with no choice but to pay the full extra charge under pressure. This incident reflects extremely poor communication, lack of accountability, and unprofessional behavior. The staff’s handling of the situation was dismissive and unreasonable, which significantly impacted my stay and left a very negative impression of the hotel.
