24.09.16So I booked my stay through Agoda and paid before I got there, a method I will probably not use again. First of all, the front desk person assumed I didn’t have a reservation. Because I made the reservation before I got there, they wanted a deposit of $100, but finally, and this was the weird kicker, the front desk woman who was coming off very rude, told me I couldn’t have any guest…..is this a motel or a halfway house???
That immediately turned me off and made me feel uncomfortable with my stay there. The motel looks more like low income studio apartments, it wasn’t in the greatest part of Merced, & the TV didn’t work initially.
The most redeeming part of my stay was the second day and the front desk man who gave excellent customer service and was very accommodating. He fixed my TV, he made sure I had what I needed, & was polite.
Alas, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I don’t like coming into what I thought would be a relaxing environment, especially for my birthday weekend, to be met with contempt, disrespect, & made to feel uneasy and uncomfortable.
