Very slow check-in with queues taking 15 minutes despite there not being a huge amount of people checking in. The lifts were busy and crowded, and the use of stairs was disallowed unless in case of an emergency. I was given a room on the 3rd floor directly overseeing the around-the-clock lengthy queues of vehicles to the petrol station next door. It was the choice of deactivating the AC and suffering the hot room or breathing in the exhaust fumes. It also took a while to figure out how to actually switch on the AC, with the wall panel having five similarly looking buttons with hardly decipherable symbols, and one had to press the second from below for a long time before the thing started up. As can be guessed from this, there was no-one guiding me to the room and explaining how things work. The room had this "Coolbar" which I'm not sure if it is a proper fridge or not. It did seem to eventually cool drinks down, but it took a long time and may have been just due to some of the other drinks I put inside being already very cold. There was also a speaker in the ceiling emitting some form of repeated drum beats WITHIN THE ROOM. And it could not be turned off even by removing the keycard! Like what is this I don't even... First time in my current long travel across Asia that I actually need to consider using my earplugs for sleeping, and for something INTENTIONALLY put there by the hotel. Otherwise the amenities were adequate for the fairly high price point. The breakfast was good in both quality and variety. However, I decided to checkout after one night despite booking two nights, which is the first time I've done this in a very long time. Moved to another nearby hotel at the other side of Jl. Gadot Subroto, which turned out to be much better despite being half the price.
