Location is not near usual tourist attractions so requires didi taxi to get around, but taxi fares are very affordable in China. Gym facilities is bare minimum but other than that it has been a great choice for stay!

I had a very pleasant stay at Starr Hotel Shanghai and would highly recommend it, especially for family and Muslim travellers. The hotel’s location is very strategic. It is just a short walk to a Line 1 metro station, and only one stop away from Shanghai Railway Station, making it very convenient to travel around the city. We were also fortunate to receive a complimentary room upgrade. The upgraded room was very spacious and comfortable for both me and my mum. It included a kitchen, bedroom, living area, and a bathroom. I especially appreciated that the bathroom had a solid door instead of a glass door, which made it more suitable and comfortable for family stays. One downside was that although the room had an electric stove, there were no kitchen utensils provided. There was also no sponge for washing dishes, although dishwashing soap was available. For Muslim travellers, this hotel is highly recommended. There is a halal restaurant located just a 2-minute walk away, which made finding food very easy and convenient. The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I had several parcels delivered to the hotel, and the staff kindly sent them directly to my room. It was such a pleasant surprise to return after a long day of exploring Shanghai and find my parcels already waiting inside. Housekeeping was done daily, and everything was kept clean and comfortable. Overall, I am very satisfied with my stay. Thank you to the team at Starr Hotel Shanghai for the excellent service. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I return to Shanghai in the future.
