24.09.10Our stay at Shimoda Bay Kuroshio was fantastic. The location was superb, offering breathtaking views. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the facilities were top-notch. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable and the room was exceptionally large, making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The staff went out of their way for our dietary requirements on short notice which was amazing. I loved the architecture and design of this hotel and that in itself was worth the stay. I 100% recommend the Shimoda Bay Kuroshio, truly one of our best stays in Japan.
24.07.06 This resort is primary for domestic tourists, foreigners looking to experience Japanese hospitality.
The staff is incredibly accommodating, including altering dinner and breakfast menu for our diets. Speaking of meals we were served a full seafood dinner with abalone, prawns, fish and crab. Wow! This would be a very expensive dinner in my country.
The staff was so kind and used translator to compensate our lack of Japanese language. We are grateful for that.
This hotel has a very specific aesthetic, with exposed concrete walls and such. Westerns will find it kitschy or endearing.
