우에다/나카마츠야 료칸

Most memorable experience was the food. We stayed 2nights and each meal was a surprising delight. Our final breakfast was a little disappointing compared to the rest of the other meals. Almost felt like they were chasing us to leave. We booked the tatami rooms on the high floor, views were nice, beddings were very comfy. The layout of the room was awkward as once u have 4 futons laid out, there's hardly any room to walk or place your things. The lounge area isn't exactly a place you will lounge, felt more like a waiting area. The onsen (one of the reason I booked this place) isn't what I'd expected. It felt small and not a place I'd hang out for long. We saw many guests went over to the public bath across the road. Coffee was provided only during breakfast (none in the room except tea). Staffs were very friendly and efficient!

Everyone was nice

Wonderful people, in a good location right by the temples. There is a shuttle to and from the train station. The Onsen facilities were great. Spacious room with incredible views as well.
