26.05.28This was our 5th stay at the Dalmahoy. That says it all.
Unusually hot weather for the time of year. There is a fan in the room but not air conditioning, if that matters to you.
26.05.26Lovely hotel, enjoyed our stay. Handy for getting into Edinburgh by bus. Ate in the Brasserie and couldn’t fault. Cocktail lounge is also lovely place to sit in the evening.
26.05.15Like : Amazing hotel and club with good amenities and comfortable rooms ! Good location with bus stop in front of the property for those with no car !
Dislike : Minor but worth noting - we were there for 4 nights but got only 1 bottle of water each and the breakfast was the same every day
26.05.11This hotel is in a most beautiful setting with plenty of nature walks and wildlife.
The rooms were spacious, the bathroom could do with a refurb and is quite dated with shower curtains. The black mould on the silicone around the bath was unsightly and wouldn't take much to rectify.
Other than that we were impressed with the facilities overall. The pool was a good temperature. We also used the sauna and steam room. Plenty of cubicles and lockers in the changing rooms.
We enjoyed playing the pitch and putt. You can use the clubs for free from the leisure club and buy a golf ball priced at £3 each.
We did eat in the Bairds Bar one night. The food was good quality and presented well.
The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and eager however i found the breakfast staff a little too keen. After we had eaten some toast we went up to get a few items of the cooked buffet and came back and our table had been cleared with no offer to replace the cutlery that had been taken away that we now needed to eat our breakfast.
Overall I would return to the Dalmahoy, the positives far outweighs the few niggles that we had.
26.05.10Stayed for a charity ball. We had lunch which was lovely. The 3 course meal served at the ball was nothing short of awful, cold and dry. Breakfast was average at best. For the cost I expected much more.
