Best if you have a car. The onsen is wonderful. I’ve never seen squirrels in Japan. So cute. The room was way bigger than I needed as a solo traveler, but could cone with whole family to stay. Great value.

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing, primarily due to the poor customer service we received during check-in. We waited approximately an hour and a half with no clear communication about the status of our reservation. Throughout that time, staff would not confirm whether we actually had a room or explain what the issue was, leaving us confused and frustrated after a long day of travel. What made the situation worse was how we were treated by the staff. The employees were consistently rude and dismissive, and we were made to feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. It was very apparent that we were treated differently than local guests, which created an uncomfortable and discouraging atmosphere. The location is far from any train. We were unable to secure a taxi. And asked if we could ride the hotel shuttle to the train station. We were informed that that is not included in our reservation, despite the fact that the website lists hotel shuttles back-and-forth from the train station. It took another couple that spoke the language to intervene for us to be able to get a ride to the train station. The staff was completely unwilling to help us. We almost had to walk 40 minutes in a dangerous mountain road. Hospitality begins with respectful communication and basic courtesy, and unfortunately this hotel failed in both areas. Because of this experience, we would not choose to stay here again and cannot recommend it to others.

I was not aware the unit i booked was sublet and managed by a different entity. The front desk were not able to help me, i had to do the checkin manually which requires filling a form that was supposed to be sent to me but was not for some reason. I had to call the emergency hotline several times, wait past the annoying voice messages and hunt down the option that allowed me to speak to a human person, then only i was able to get that form sent to me. All this while i had my wife and kids waiting in the car out side late at night. Beware if you are booking the Villa

Really nice, large cottages for families. Without a car, you have to rely on a shuttle to and from Izu Kogen. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
