Near Kok Tobe park and you can walk just a few minutes to the cable car to go to Kok Tobe hill. It also near the supermarket like 500m.

Good budget option in Almaty. The room has a good air conditioner, hot water pressure & a refrigerator which is all I needed. Buffet breakfast & hotel cleaners cleaned the room really well. I stayed here several times & would definitely stay again.

Hotel needs improvement in its buffet breakfast in both quantity and variety. The service is also not up to the mark. Other than this, rooms are okay. Service is average. Location is great. Tariff is reasonable.

It was a quiet place to stay, near to koktobe gondola station

I recently stayed at Hotel Alma in Almaty for 1 week and would like to share an honest account to help future travelers make an informed choice. Although the hotel is mentioned as a 3-star property, in reality, it functions more like a 1-star establishment. The basic amenities and overall service quality reflect this stark difference. Room Facilities: The refrigerator in our room didn’t work, and even after registering two complaints, it was never fixed. Also, the toiletries provided are extremely limited – only a 5ml shampoo and shower gel, which may not suffice even for a single person. If you're traveling with a companion, make sure to carry your own. They do provide more upon request, but not proactively or consistently. Water Access: A positive point is that each floor has a water dispenser, which is convenient. Do carry your own reusable bottle. Check-in Caution: Avoid arriving late at night. We reached after midnight, and there was no staff at the reception. Though there is a bell, nobody responded despite repeated attempts. This was frustrating and unsettling after a long journey. Language Barrier: The staff speaks minimal English, so it's wise to learn a few basic Russian phrases or keep a translator app handy to avoid communication challenges. Family Friendliness: If you’re traveling with children, this hotel is not ideal. Hot water availability is unreliable, which can be a major issue, especially for families. Breakfast & Food: Vegetarians, be aware: the breakfast offers no vegetarian-friendly options. On the plus side, the coffee served was excellent, but oddly enough, it’s chargeable, even though it’s served during breakfast hours. Final Verdict: Hotel Alma is suitable only for solo travelers or budget-conscious guests who are comfortable with bare minimum services and language challenges. Families, vegetarians, and those expecting international-standard facilities may want to consider alternatives.
