25.04.13fantastic traditional onsen hotel at a serene valley with super convenient public transport. well preserved architecture. nice staff. tasty food. amazing mixed onsen.
25.02.06The staff was very rigid about dinner and breakfast time, kept calling our room 2 times to push us to have dinner and breakfast in 10 mins. Otherwise, all is good, the room is clean and spacious, the facility is dated but well kept. The outside environment is very scenic and good for photo-taking
24.12.26Houshi onsen offers high-quality onsen bath and delicious local Japanese food. Our stay here is a complete relaxation after a year long of hard working. The place is unique, historic, charming, and peaceful. It is like going back in time to explore traditional Japanese culture. It’s truly a living museum.
24.12.15One of the best onsen and ryokan experience I have ever had. Both main indoor and open air onsens are excellent and the food is superb. It worth to rent a car for a day or two because the location is very difficult by public transport I guess. I would love to come back again.
24.10.29The onsen is amazing however the room is very dated and has a stale smell, making the experience a total disappointment. The wall is dirty and badly in need for a new coat of paint. Given these conditions and the lack of attention by the staff at the dining hall (used plates and dishes stacked up on the table and not cleared to make way for other dishes), the room rate is considered exorbitant.
