가노야 고라쿠엔

After initial confusion finding the hotel due to google maps not having the bus stop where i got off and having low expectations due to an unassuming building, i am so glad to have chosen this place. It is literally just 100 meters away from the Katayamazuonsen-soyu CANBUS bus stop, few minutes walk to a number of public onsens. and a very traditional Japanese breakfast ! The breakfast and the mattress on the floor may not be everyone's cup of tea, but i am there for the experience of living in the traditional local way so it was a wonderful experience ! The hotel itself already have onsen so there is really no need to go to the public ones. My only disappointment would be that the onsite restaurant does not accept walk ins so i missed out on the dinner experience because i am not sure what time i could make it back to the hotel in the evening due to my packed schedule.
