A wonderful location and host. So clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom and shower but excellent facilities for the price. Would go back many times, wish we had spent more time here.

I was a little nervous as a woman traveling alone, but this place was excellent. It’s a solid walk from the station, but centrally located for all the shops and attractions in Matsushima. It may not have all the amenities of a large hotel. However, it was clean, safe, and very comfortable, with plenty of privacy. The host was super kind and gave wonderful suggestions on how to best enjoy the town. I would definitely stay here again!

마츠시마에 머문다면 추천이지만. 이 지역 숙박은 안하는걸 추천합니다. 식당도 6시이후에 한군데밖에 안열어 선택권이없고, 편의점도 한참걸어가야해요. 하지만 굳이 마츠시마에 머문다면 이곳에 머무세요.

Uchi guest house couldn't be in a better location, couldn't be any cleaner, and couldn't be run by a better guy. Owner Eiju really knows what he's doing. He's chosen a beautiful town and literally the perfect location in that town to run a simple guesthouse. Rooms are simple and VERY clean. bathroom is shared, but at approximately 6 rooms, they are never busy. The owner speaks VERY good english and will give you a thorough tour of the place when you arrive. of course if you have any questions, he's happy to comply. He made me a coffee this morning, and directed me to the amazing boulangerie down the street for breakfast. the Izakaya place he recommended for dinner last night was perfect. If i could give the place 6 stars, i would. Do yourself a favor, and stay here.
