26.04.18The staffs are very nice. The hotel designer is cool. We love this vibe. The dinner is very good and authentic.
26.01.22We stayed for two nights and had a really great experience. The hotel is clean and beautifully designed, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location is a bit outside the city, but that’s actually what makes it special and peaceful. The fall views were lovely, and we also appreciated the free shuttle service into the city.
A special thank-you to Mr. Kazuhiko Tomiyama, the owner, who is also the designer, DJ, and even the driver! He’s truly an amazing person .
25.10.15It was a pleasant stay. The hotel design details are good reminders for us city busy people, we should respect the nature and don't overlook it.
We enjoyed the French Japanese fusion dinner very much with relaxing music and we are grateful to meet the hotel designer.
We also appreciate the staff service, very friendly and helpful.

From beginning to end, what a treat it was to stay here. From the smooth check in, to dinner with live music that can cater to your taste, an interactive activity to connect you with the local space around you, to the design of the hotel, it was all curated and thought out by the designer of this hotel, Kazuhiko Tomiyama.
It feels he has touched every aspect of this place to provide you an experience to connect you to nature and the land around you. What was at first just a stay at a hotel, turned into an experience.
Studied Design in Paris and New York, he worked hard to bring his vision to life back home in Japan. The hotel took him 10 years to build and woodworked and crafted walls, floors, furniture, even down to the most detailed ornaments on the walls. We had a wonderful conversation with him about his life and passion. He even gifted us carbon drawings he created himself and autographed them for us.
If you are into art, nature, or passionate individuals, this is definitely the place to go. One of my most memorable stays during my trip in Japan. Amazing accommodations, great staff, delicious food, amazing view. They were willing to provide full last minute accommodations for my gluten free diet, and it was incredible! What a special experience to have stayed here.
24.12.05We stopped at so many placed before this and this was 200000% worth it. The staff was insanely kind, they spoke English, and they spoke it well. The dinner and breakfast were some of the classiest and best meals we had in all of japan. The room was massive (compared to any other in Japan, but even US based rooms) and we'll designed.
We met the designer, who was a very friendly and fun person who also DJ'd at dinner.
The ride from the JR station via taxi was ¥1700 and definitely worth it. They will take you down to the station at the end of your stay. This was about a 25-30 minute walk to the toshogu shrine which is another 15-20 minutes from the tamozawa villa.
If we're ever back in Nikko we will definitely be coming back.
