26.05.24Needed a room for a couple of nights as we had a friend in the nearby hospital. Was pleasantly surprised with this place. Roooms were larger and very clean and comfortable. Do your self a favor and book online as the front desk can't match or beat the online prices, I did this right in the lobby and saved almost $50 per night.
25.12.08Nice and cozy.
Breakfast is pretty good as well.
25.11.10Managers need to go under better training to treat customers better. There is a new front desk lady and she had to get a manager involved. The manager didn’t want to help us with getting an upgrade because we booked through a third-party. Even though we are platinum elite members through IHG. That is what he told us, they don’t not do that at this hotel because it’s third-party and maybe other hotels that are Holiday Inn express might, but they do not make a habit of it. That is what he said. Reluctantly, he gave us a so-called upgrade. However, it ended up being on the ground floor and handicap room. The window blinds didn’t work and the floor mat towel was dirty. Really it was a backhanded slap in the face. I asked for a room on a high floor on the quiet side of the hotel, and he would not do any of that. I assumed he would do it and he did not do any of that. Rather than argue with him, we reluctantly accepted it and chose to leave an appropriate review regarding this. Management is a problem and need to send them through training again to help them treat IHG members better, let alone just normal average customers. This all started because we booked a queen room for the first night and then a king room for a second night a few days later as we had changed plans. Will we stay over one night we normally book a king room. I figured it’s not a problem for them to do an upgrade as a hotel was not busy and that is what the new front desk lady told us. Management just needs to take care of customers.!
25.11.10I happen to book an extra night a few days later and got two different types while staying two consecutive nights at this hotel. The first night was a queen bed and the second night was a king bed. We generally, if we stay one night, just get a queen bed but if we stay over one night, we get a king bed. The new person at the front desk was great however, when she had to get the manager involved, he was not so nice in helping. He was polite to my face and told me they do not do upgrades with third parties even though I am a platinum member of IHG. He ended up doing it, but then just gave us the handicap accessible room and did not tell us until we got into the room. rather than go argue with him I just reluctantly accepted everything and chose to leave a bad review and rating. Management is the problem at this hotel. I deserve better being a platinum member, even though I booked through a third-party. Heck, anybody deserves better whether they are platinum members or not and the hotel was not busy and had plenty of rooms available. That was the information I got from the new front desk lady. On a sidenote, the shower towel mat was dirty and the curtains and blinds did not work to open or close them. Just disappointed in how we were treated. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years when we go to Portland. They need to do better or the managers need to do better For the customers.
