26.05.27Where do I start? I love everything about this hotel. Location is great! Walkable to the famous Overpriced Nishiki Market. There a pub nearby for my favourite Guinness Pints in the evenings. The rooms are such a nice breather after facing those tiny tokyo/osaka rooms. The bed is super comfortable and clean! The bath size is spacious for even me and my husband together, i'd want the same for my house haha! The amenities need to be hilighted, I'm not the sort of traveller who uses single-use hotel amenities but oh my, I LOVE THE HAIRBRUSH AND THE TOOTHBRUSH that i asked for an extra set to bring home. I truly adore them, such great quality coming from a boutique hotel. The staff are friendly too and don't forget the thoughtful croissants we get every morning. On our last day, we got an uber Taxi to the Train Station and it isn't too bad for the price based on distance either.
26.05.20I loved staying at this hotel and will stay here again.
The only suggestion I have is the mattress was very saggy and uncomfortable. Maybe it's time to replace the mattress.
26.05.17I had a large Japanese style room, which was lovely and calming. In fact, the whole feel of the hotel was very calming, which was needed when spending so much time walking around and in busy areas. It felt as if the hotel was a family run hotel (but isn't). Location was great - near Nishiki market , shopping area and close to metro stations. Staff were absolutely amazing - extremely helpful and patient, even when I kept asking the same things! It would be difficult to single out anyone of them as they were all individually lovely. Free washing facilities was very helpful, as was having free daily water and coffee machine pods - such a nice gesture. Bus route 205 is close to the hotel and it will be your friend! Excellent hotel and very glad I chose to stay there. A special thank you to all the staff - I would hope to stay there again should I return to Kyoto.
26.05.08Spacious room. Free laundry machine at lobby. Free croissant every morning. Helpfull staff.
A bit far from bus station and train station. Very close to Nishiki Market
26.05.03The hotel was very clean and they replenish all amenities everytime they clean the room. Bathroom has a pretty large tub for Japanese standards. They also have a laundry room supplied with detergent that is completely free to use, which is not common in Japan. They only have one washer and dryer plus an extra mini dryer that is shared by everyone (first come first serve), but it is a small hotel so we usually found it empty or had to wait for just one cycle. The dryer actually dries in one cycle or less (most of our loads didn't need the full cycle). I've been to other hotels in Japan where the dryer was so weak that it took 3-4 cycles plus my payment! All staff were very kind and helpful. They helped us call taxis and will go out to communicate your destination in Japanese to the driver. Most, but not all staff spoke English which is fine and understandable. They rotate staff throughout and will usually have at least one English-speaking staff in a 24-hr window. My very hard to satisfy mother in her 60s was very pleased. Highly recommend this hotel!
