HIZ HOTEL Gion-Shirakawa

The room is clean. We were 4 adults and we had a comfortable stay. There is a designated kitchen area with microwave oven to heat your konbini meals. The toilet was clean. There is just a small gap between the wall and door if I recall correctly. Location is good.

Best hotel we have stayed in Kyoto. The hotel was quite pricey especially since the tax in Kyoto has increased but HIZ hotel is so worth the price. Very clean room. Our room looks like traditional modern Japanese room which we like. Complete with amenities such as hair dryer, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, clothes hanger, kitchen sink and utensils and the usual towel, slippers, and other toiletries. Staff is a Filipino and is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a peaceful neighborhood which we like. There is also a small river/stream around the area. It was really peaceful and safe to walk around at night. There is a mini market nearby which I just don't know the name but has a lot of restaurants and shops. You can find a lot of hidden gem restaurants around the area. Family mart is also nearby for any of your konbini run. Train and bus station is also nearby and walkable. Just 1 bus stop away from Yasaka Shrine which is really good and it is advisable to go early in the morning if you wanted pictures with less crowd. Accessible also if you are going to Uji or other nearby cities in Kyoto. You can also have your luggages stored at the hotel. We booked a luggage service delivery for our luggages to be delivered to Osaka for our next stay. Everything was good. We even have laundry some of our clothes in the room. Room is very spacious for a family of 4. We were able to open our luggages free and easy. Overall, I highly recommend HIZ hotel and we'll surely book again here when we go back to Osaka. Charming hotel in the streets of quiet Kyoto. There are similar hotels near it too. It’s only a short walk away from the train station. We used buses more tho, and the main road for bus stops was about a 5-7 min walk from the hotel. It was nothing fancy. It was simple and it felt peaceful. Washing machine was a huge bonus for us and ofcourse the Filipino staff were really nice . 🩷

Ideal for family who need flexibility for cooking and washing. The location is very much accessible via train & bus. The staff are very approachable and easy to communicate with.

The hotel room has everything you need, including in-room laundry which was helpful as we were midway through our vacation. Great location. Took a minute to figure out hot water. We got the deluxe room to use the couch bed but there were no sheets.
