24.11.24From the moment we entered we were greeted so warmly and friendly by the sweetest obaachan. She asked about our lives and said because we are so tall she is sorry about the room being so small(it wasn’t) she insisted on giving us complementary breakfast due to the size of the room which we graciously accepted.
The breakfast was incredibly tasty and they accommodated my dietary restrictions.
The onsen bath tub was much larger than expected and had all basic amenities. No complaints
The room was so comfortable and cozy it made it difficult to leave in the morning.
The location isn’t super inconvenient, it’s close to a station, however, trains are infrequent so planning is necessary. Where the staff went above and beyond was when we were checking out, they asked our plans for the day and due to the train timing (we would have to wait an hour) they offered and insisted to carry us by car. Absolutely wonderful people. Some of the kindest people I’ve met in my over 6 years living in Japan.
24.11.13From the outside, this ryokan didn't look like much. But what it lacks in looks is more than made up for by the hosts' warm and genuine hospitality. I will be sure to stay with them again if I return to this area.
The bath is shared, and can accommodate at most 4 people at a time. It's basic and simple, but the water felt great.
It's a good idea to add dinner and breakfast to your stay. It was affordable, and the food was fantastic. The dinner was a feast.
The hosts only spoke Japanese, but they said they often have guests from England, France, etc. There's little to worry in terms of communication. The hosts were very patient, and being able to speak and understand just some basic Japanese will help things along.
