Tsukasa Ryokan

작년4월에 가보고 정말 좋아서 올해 4월에 부모님 모시고 또 갔습니다. 온천 물도 좋고 방도 훌륭합니다. 가이세키 정식도 맛있고요. 해외 숙소를 재방문하는 흔치 않은 일을 가능하게 한 곳입니다.

We were a group of four friends who drove here directly from Fukuoka Airport for a relaxing two night stay. The teishoku dinner and breakfast were exceptional. We ate so well that we always had to a walk after dinner. The town was very quiet and dark at night, but we appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and closeness to nature since we came here specifically to unwind. I slept incredibly well in this ryokan. It is truly charming. Thank you to the staff for their warm hospitality and for making our stay so memorable.

Kiki Mountain View room with breakfast and dinner turned out to be disappointing. Only top 1/3 of the 1/2 window side had view of the mountain. Rest was parking lot and another ryokan building. Even that Mountain View was with electricity lines running front of it. Very inaccurate description. I would not have booked it if I knew. Also private meals were in a room with no windows. the whole stay I felt very confined. Women’s bath could barely hold 3 to 4 people without feeling crowded. Bath also was in closed room. Not outside. Meals were just ok. The village was very dark with some buildings that might be closed or abandoned. It was unpleasant to stroll after the dinner. We abandoned the whole idea about the stroll after a meal. Maybe my expectations were too high and this is normal for ryokan culture.
