Tobaya Ryokan

주인분도 굉장히 친절하시고 방 안내도 잘 해주셔서 처음 와본 료칸인데 잘 적응 할 수 있었다. 다른 리뷰들을 보면 오래되었다는 느낌을 받는 다는 사람들이 있지만 나에게 있어선 전혀 그런 느낌이 하나도 없었다. 정말 하루였지만 더 지내고 있다 가고싶었다. 재방문을 하고싶다.

The first thing to note about this hostel is that it's perfect! I spoke with the owner, and I mentioned that if his hostel were in a big city like Osaka or Kyoto, booking a room would be nearly impossible. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the owner is incredibly kind. It's the ideal place to unwind and relax after a full day of exploring a new city.

We had an excellent experience staying at Tobaya Ryokan. The innkeepers were very friendly and even drove us to the station. The bath can be used privately when you have a family. they may provide breakfast and/or dinner for an additional fee if you ask them ahead of time. It has a very traditional Japanese feeling, but still casual so you can relax and feel at home. We loved staying here and highly recommend anyone to stay here!

This lovely little ryokan is a little out of the way but absolutely charming, if a bit older. It has been welcoming guests for over 140years so I expect a bit of wear and tear but the essential areas were well maintained and clean. We had a lovely large Japanese style room consisting of a bedroom, dining room and lounge room, each with their own TV (not that we used them for the one night we were there), traditional tatami in excellent condition and low tables and chairs consistent of the style. Futon was a little too thin for my western hips to sleep comfortably but was ok. I expected this. Breakfast the next morning was a great traditional breakfast spread and kept us full until lunch. Host is the most lovely man, will and happy to help at any request, even offering to drive us to our destination of the castle nearby which we gladly accepted. Overall, very happy with this lovely ryokan and would recommend.

1800년대에 지어진 건물로써 과거의 향수를 느낄 수 있는 료칸이다. 아쉬운 점을 고르자면 방의 청소가 제대로 안되어 있던 점이라고 할 수 있겠다. 공용욕실은 문을 잠구고 프라이빗하게 쓸 수 있어서 만족스럽다. 사장님께 부탁드리면 체크아웃시 역까지 픽업해주시니 이 점 참고하면 좋을 듯 하다. 또한 히코네성 앞거리까지 그리 멀지 않기에 접근성이 괜찮다. 숙소도 조용하고 좋았다. 다음에 히코네 오게된다면 또 다시 이용할 듯 싶다.
