Upon arrival, I had to call a number that was handwritten on a piece of paper for someone to come to the desk. I was told I need to pay a $50 deposit of which was nowhere on my booking information only the $3.98. I would have to pay. No exceptions were made and they didn’t take tap to pay. It’s a really long story on the other things that I was required but needless to say I was very irritated. I got to my room and quickly washed up so I could head to the event I was there for. I noticed two small black stealth bomber shaped flies in the bathroom. Killed one the other one flew somewhere. Later that night in the bathroom again and there were three of the same flies. The bathtub may or may not have been cleaned I didn’t ever get in because the bottom of it looked disgusting. The blanket and bedspread on the king-size bed were probably older than I am and I’m in my 60s. The mattress was hard as a rock. Unfortunately, I was in a corner room which quite often can be a good thing, but just a couple dozen feet away was a storage facility and all night long with a wonderful Kansas winds I heard the metal building and doors. I was told when I checked in that breakfast was served from 6 to 9. I had no intentions of eating breakfast there, but I did want to go down and get some water for my travel cup and see if there was something prepackaged that I could take with me on my ride home to snack on. I got down there at about seven minutes before nine and it was abandoned and nothing left other than an instant oatmeal packet that looked like it had been played with by a toddler. When I went to check out, there was no one at the register but a child made hand with a child sign on it that said to drop your keys there. So I couldn’t inquire about my $50 deposit that I’m supposed to get back and I had also told the clerk the night before that I wanted the paper that I had to write my credit card information on shredded. Sidenote, I had to provide a written credit card number because I only travel with tap to pay. I will not be going back obviously. I only stopped here because I was traveling by myself and as a senior, I have to watch my budget. Generally, I travel with someone else and I provide the hotel and they provide the fuel. Lesson learned. I will not stay at a budget hotel again
