Hatsushiro Ryokan

I loved my time here I wish I spent more time. The host is brilliantly lovely. The accommodation is private and clean. The location is right on the river. It’s a very authentic and traditional experience, you get a kimono and access to lovely onsens. Wasn’t busy when I went. Highly recommend for backpackers.

Everything was pretty clean - both the room and the bathroom. There are 3 stalls so we didn't have to wait to use it. Breakfast was good and the couple running it were both very nice to us. We communicated using elementary Japanese, which definitely went a long way. Overall well worth the price and very pleased with our stay!
