Walk to everything! Clean, friendly staff!

Location is just perfect, it's a short walk away from everything. Parking is super easy, there are main and first floor and no elevator, so if you can't do stairs make sure you tell the hotel to give you a room on the main level. Rooms are big, comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful, we arrived early and we could leave the car at the hotel while we went for lunch. I would defenetly recommend this place !!!

I used points for my 1st night and pre paid for the 2nd night. The place is nice, the room was clean.... But We booked because of the Pool which is in all their Pics. The Pool has Not been open for 5 years. Well they had already pre checked us in so we had No choice but to stay.... or wait for a Manager 4 hours later. So we stayed... the next day I had to goto the desk for the 2nd night to give my information AGAIN. I was there 3x and No one could help me except the Manager and I was told to come back. I finally get a call around noon to come to the desk... I was showering and getting ready for Our 1 day in Helen which we had been waiting all morning to hear from the desk. I goto the desk.... and pointed out to the Managers Wife that none of the lights could be plugged in because there were no outlets and about the pool. She calls the Manager on her cell phone and hands me her phone.... He is screaming at Me about a Family emergency and how He isn't required to have lights and Don't tell him how to run HIS HOTEL !! And I can LEAVE ! He shows up at the desk with 2 minutes screaming to get TF out of his Hotel. Long story short we had to call the Police to get back into our room to remove our items and get another Hotel room across the street. He refused to refund over $100 for the prepaid night and charged another $50 for No reason! I worked in the Hotel Industry a long time and NEVER have I seen anything like this. He did share that His Father had passed away and that was his family Emergency and even after trying to understand and reason with him ... He was Screaming at Me. Not 1 of 3 employees could help me from check in to this point .... because the Manager is the ONLY person even allowed to do Check Ins or Outs. A Gentlemen at 8am couldn't get a receipt because the girl wasn't Allowed to do it and he had to wait until 11am. Stay ANYWHERE except HERE !!! Super 8 across the street was amazing and a beautiful Pool !

The staff was not very friendly except for the maintenance man. The shower ceiling had paint peeling into the tub. The was only one little bar of soap for both the sink and shower. TV remote would not work so maintenance tried to fix and ended up replacing both the TV and the remote. Would have though cleaning people would have checked out before or previous guest would have reported. Clock radio not working. Breakfast not very good. Only had cereal and frozen breakfast sandwiches. Waffles were in a bowl and did not heat up in the microwave very well. No toast, fresh pastries or other items normally found on continental breakfast bars. No towel rack in bathroom area. Towels left laying on back of toilet. Walls need painting had spot marks were they tried to touch up paint and the color did not match. Desk chair had many ugly stains that had to sit on.

The location was great, walking distance to downtown was a breeze and the Slice of Helen was right next door as was Bigg Daddys with live music and good food. The rooms could use updating but it was just a place to sleep. Thanks to the staff for providing extra pillows
