26.03.22The location is great and parking is very easy, which made the stay very convenient. It’s also good value for money overall. Although there isn’t a full kitchen, the room still comes with basic tableware, which was useful.
However, there were a couple of issues. The room was unexpectedly cold, and even with the heater on, it still didn’t feel warm enough, especially next morning when I woke up.
The main problem was the bathroom. There was a persistent unpleasant smell that seemed to come from either the toilet or the shower drainage system. It didn’t go away, and unfortunately the smell spread into the room, could even notice it from the bed and sofa, which really affected the overall comfort.
Overall, decent for the price and location, but the heating and odor issues need to be addressed.
25.11.01 Had an excellent stay in Kaikoura at the Top 10. Efficient and effective laundry, spotless cabins, kitchen, bathrooms with clean showers and built in hairdryers!
Only downside was that we were looking forward to the hottub, but discovered after checkin that it has to be booked and is at an additional charge. The pool and playground are free though!
Do not hesitate to book a cabin for your family here!
