To be honest, we were quite disappointed with the accommodation. The cottage itself was not particularly clean, and it was evident that only a very light clean had been carried out prior to our arrival. There were noticeable marks and dirt on the walls, as well as in the kitchen above the benchtops. The fridge was unclean to the point that we felt the need to line it with plastic bags before storing our food. Most of the glassware was also dirty and had to be washed before use. The bathroom was neat and tidy; however, no basic amenities were provided, which was unexpected. The pool area, while set in a nice location, appeared unclean and poorly maintained. We understand that the surrounding trees may make upkeep challenging, but the pool itself looked neglected. The seating area was pleasant, though the pool table was quite worn, and other recreational items (such as the dartboard) were incomplete, with only one broken dart available. Given the price of *** per night, we had expected a higher standard. We have stayed in significantly cheaper accommodation in the Hunter Valley on multiple occasions, all of which offered a much better overall experience. For a lower price point, this stay may have been acceptable; however, the cabin we stayed in clearly requires some care and attention. Overall, it felt that only the bare minimum level of maintenance is being carried out at this property.
