25.10.17 After reading some other reviews, I was a bit concerned- but City Park is actually quite a comfortable budget hotel.
Our room was smaller than I expected, but big enough for a couple.
While the room is quite clean, there are a few spots which are more wear and tear than anything else.
Carpet in our room (215) has been replaced and isn’t in too bad a condition.
Bed is a little on the hard side but (considering City Park is right in Kingsway) the room felt enough for us to sleep incredibly well.
Microwave, tv, fridge, air con and water pressure were all fully functioning.
There is a tram stop into the city literally five mins away. And Flinders St. is about a fifteen minute walk (the Shrine about a five minute walk).
Free park is an absolute bonus at an inner city hotel.
Reception has often not been staffed but there is a number to ring if needed.
Honestly, you get what you pay for - but we were pretty happy here.
25.08.24 Spiders, torn carpet, fucked skirts, walls coming apart and a window that once open almost falls apart at the seams because it is so poorly held in with old silicone that a small gust of wind could blow it in, toilet squeaking, couldn't use the hottub because of how insanely loud it was to all the other guests, bed had what looked like a blood stain on it, TV only could get 3 channels, for the price just go somewhere where you will feel safe and they actually perform maintenance on the property.
25.04.19 Pleasant stay. The manager was really kind and helpful.
25.04.06 Good clean budget accommodation. Comfortable beds, quiet, great water pressure, bath was a bonus. Easy check in, friendly, and good communication. Will stay again.
