Kyo no Machiya Uenoya is a traditional Kyoto townhouse which offers convenient access to various sightseeing locations around Kyoto, including Kiyomizu Temple and Sanjusangen-do. The townhouse is tranquil and comfortable, and has a Japanese-style aesthetic complete with sliding screens, tatami mats, and a small garden. Guest room facilities include a refrigerator and microwave. There are no beds; instead, guests can experience the Japanese lifestyle by sleeping on futon bedding on the tatami mat floor. The landlady is able to speak a little English.
