26.05.08Absolutley enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are big and clean. The bathroom was perfect with great water pressure and a shower that doesn't flood the bathroom floor. Enjoyed the balcony because you are allowed to smoke on it. They clean the pool every morning. I didn't use it but it was nice to see they maintain it. They provide towels for the pool and for going to the beach. I've seen reviews about mold at other hotels. I had no mold at all in my room/ bathroom. Location is perfect as EVERYTHING is in walking distance. Close enough to the beach and the bars/clubs but far enough from the noise. Didn't hear anything at all in my room. All the staff is very friendly and polite. I actually extended my stay here because I liked it so much. Will be my go to hotel next time I come back.
26.04.30Location is very convenient for dining, going to island tours and shopping. Staff are friendly and helpful.
26.03.19We stayed for two nights and the place was amazing. It was clean and the staff are also friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is also nice and location is great because you can go anywhere in town from there by foot plus the view on the 6th floor is beautiful. Hoping to stay here when we come back!!
26.03.06Three nights of incessant and relentless noise from party music and sports events that go to the early morning (it is currently 6 am and the music concert across the street is still going). Our room faces the street and has zero sound protection. Absolutely horrible. This is an honest and real time review. We have stayed at hundreds of hotels all over the world and the Sea Cocoon has been the worst one for "sleep quality".
If you like to get some sleep at night avoid this hotel. If you decide to ignore this warning and you get a room that faces the street, ask for an inside room (that mat help a little), or switch hotels.
On the positive side, the views from the 6th floor(opposite side of the hotel) are lovely!
25.12.13The location of this hotel is very good for walking around downtown and to the launch point for boat tours.
Rooms are pretty small.
A/C in the rooms is adequate.
The room shower didn’t drain properly. Fills with water and overflows. Maintenance eventually fixed this after mentioning it multiple times.
Room safe indicated “low battery” condition making me afraid to use it.
TV channel selection is good, however the signal frequently drops out making it difficult to watch.
Wifi speed is pretty good, but requires a separate random access code be entered for each device you want to connect. The front desk will provide as many access codes as you need.
Breakfast on the roof deck is the biggest selling point of this hotel. It offers a very nice view of the water, however, breakfast selections are limited and constantly running out of stock. Even basic things like glasses and coffee mugs are frequently out of stock. Flies on food items at times.
Management/owner is indifferent to basic customer requests like another bottle of water. He responded that only one bottle is provided and “you get what you get”. Reservation indicates water is provided, but management is stingy and clearly doesn’t empower staff to respond to basic customer requests like an extra bottle of water or more towels. Staff is very friendly, but you can tell management has limited what they can do to respond to customer requests.
At check in you are hit with a 2000 peso cash “security deposit”. Nothing in the communication from the hotel prior to arrival indicated this was required. At checkout before returning your deposit the front desk makes you wait while they have the maid check to make sure all the towels are still in the room. Really? Is towel theft really an issue?
In summary the Sea Cocoon has good potential, however, management needs to focus more on customer service and not be so disrespectful to their customers.
