Vang Vieng Sky Mountain Hotel

Great value for the price. Room is clean and comfortable but nothing fancy decor wise and no window to outside, just the communal areas/indoor balcony. Shower is lovely and hot, staff are lovely, especially the owner who speaks great English. The two housekeeper are always sweeping and mopping etc so place is very clean. Pool is great. Its used by a couple of nearby hotels too but never too busy. Breakfast was the best we've had in Vang Vieng, choose one item to order from the menu e.g. omelette, French toast etc, and then help yourself to a variety of chopped fruit, salad, bread, tea, coffee and fresh mango juice. We booked 2 nights and happily extended for a further 2. Would definitely recommend. Worth noting view that there isn't much of a view as there are restaurants in front but you only have to walk a few metres for uninterrupted mountain views

Only stayed 1 night as I discovered this more peaceful safe location after staying elsewhere. Spotlessly clean, big comfortable room with Smart TV, excellent healthy breakfast & outdoor pool.

This place is basically an over priced hostel with private shower. I stayed 3 nights, they did not clean my room even once. I had to ask for fresh clean towels daily. Only 2 small bath towels are provided, no other snaller towels. Hotel wash the towels and hang them in the hallway to dry. The lobby is open to outside, so all the towels get a nice coating of local traffic dust. No free water is provided, and they price they charge is 50% more than store next door. No safe provided. No transport from train station as advertised. They charge almost double for transport fee. I made the mistake of listening to the front desk guy, and cancelled my local LOCA private taxi right. All for $1 different in an open tuktuk without AC. Plus, the drive drove around to pick up other passengers, who paid half what I paid. It was supposed to be a private ride. The room is very old and dirty looking. Mold in the wall of showers (see photos). Toilet get wet every time taking a shower, and the bathroom door only open half way because towel rack is in the way. There mutiple large cracks on the front door. The cracks are so big that my room was filled mosquitos at night. When I told the front desk guy, he just put some tape to cover the cracks. You are better off at any other hotel, or even hostel. Also, the outside sign is Vang Vieng Victory Hotel. The driver told .e that hotel had changed name many times, now they don't even change the sign. I suspect they keep changing the name because of poor reviews.

Excellent location with nightlife, restaurants, and coffee shops nearby. Great value
