Holiday Inn Stoke on Trent

Great hotel, very friendly staff, everything perfectly clean.

This hotel did its job adequately - it provided a bed and a shower. It also had a bar and relatively nice lobby. For a 4-star listed hotel, though, it felt decidedly shabby in the room. Old carpet, cheap shampoo, average shower, MDF furniture. It felt a little shabby and un-4 stars. For a roadside motel, the price was way above what was provided. The guy on the desk that night was a good guy - cheerful, welcoming and appropriately cynical! Maybe his name was Drew or similar. Fri 27th March. He was worth a mention.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Good value because the parking and very good breakfast are included in the price. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Breakfast staff were also great and got us items that had run out and remembered our orders from the previous day. The only thing that we found a little annoying was the bathroom and shower advice ….. there is a sign that says please keep the bathroom door closed because the steam can set off the alarm. After both of us had showered, everything in the bathroom was very wet because the extractor fan didn’t work. When we asked at Reception about the extractor fan we were told that none of them work ! Apart from this we were happy with our stay, excellent location for our visit.

Good rest stop for overnight stay. Good location as it is just beside the high way.
