Staff members are so friendly, helpful & services mind. I feel like staying with friends & family at shared home. Facilities are amazing for the hostel. Also this place made me feel safe for solo travel.

Located about 15 mins easy walk from main station. Cozy and homely interior, very clean. There is a bathroom and laundry area only for females, which makes it safe and comfortable for use. Shower amenities are provided, you just need to bring your own towel. Staff are very friendly and is always open for conversations. The main area is a social place, where you can order a drink and chat with guests and/or the staff. Overall, it has far exceeded my expectations and would return again to stay.

Great staff (maybe the friendliest anywhere in Japan??). It was nice to be greeted whenever I came back and asked about my day. Most of them had some level of English and one lady was pretty fluent. It is a little small (bathroom and shower wise) but even in Summer (peak tourist time) it was doable so I imagine any other time, you'd have more of the facilities to yourself. The bunk bed system was fine, everyone was respectful of the no noise + sound after a certain time. Noise did carry a little from below but I'm not a light sleeper so it didn't affect me. The location is near the castle! But unfortunately a little further away from train station (16 ish minutes) and maybe 10 mina from town centre.

The staff is very friendly talkative, and very helpful! We enjoyed our night here! However, the location is a bit far from the station…

Tabi Shiro guesthouse was so comfortable and welcoming! The staff were very friendly and helpful with offering recommendations. Only a few minutes walk from Matsumoto castle! Also close to the train station for a day trip to Kamikochi. Very quiet, clean, and great amenities! Laundry was a lifesaver with a dryer or balcony to dry clothes. Free coffee and tea in the kitchen and nice space to hangout in. One of the best and cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in!!
