Overall my stay was great. Location: a 5 minute walk to a bus stop. But at night, you need to walk 15-20 minutes to get to nightlife. But location is very peaceful Facilities: complete! You can even cook your own food at the shared kitchen downstairs. Toilets are located mid floors a little hassle when you need to pee at night. Do note that they dont clean rooms daily as stated in their house rules unlike hotels. Staff: you get to connect to them thru email only when you need something. Theres no reception. You do self checkin which is a breeze because they will email you instructions. Highly recommended if you want to explore north east of kyoto

We stayed 6 nights at Ya Do! Our room was cool and comfortable. We enjoyed the location close to museums, the river and walking paths along the canals. Trains buses, grocery store and Gion district all in easy walking distance.

The accommodation was modern and new. Check-in was simply with a comprehensive document with entry codes sent beforehand. It is located about 10min walk from Sanjo Station and Shiyakusho-mae. Not the most convenient as it is probably 15-20min walk into the main downtown area. The walls are also extremely thin. Neighbouring guests in their own rooms talking at a normal level could be heard clearly from our room and despite being on the third floor, the sounds of traffic could be heard clearly in the room. The shower room was clean and pleasant with 3 different showers for women with a keycode entry but only one women's toilet. Not the best value for the price.
