Hotel Elios Tao

For the same price, or just a few pennies more, one can stay somewhere that doesn’t require taking turns to move in the room, like a live-action Tetris game. Horrible value for price. Out of date. Horrid pillows. No water given. A/C either full blast or too hot. No blankets. Wifi and television off/on. Other things that didn’t work were fixed. It looks like there’s a deck where one could pass time, but it turns into a restaurant at night, so that leaves the drab room. Breakfast was decent. Staff super nice and helpful. Great location. But not worth the price.

For the price we paid, the room served its purpose as a place to sleep at night, however the cleanliness of the facilities was substandard. The shower tray had black patches on it, as if not cleaned properly in an extremely long time. The bathroom was very dated, with cracked tiles on the wall which had been filled in with grout countless times. The room itself was extremely basic, with no facilities other than beds, a tv and an air conditioning unit. The location was okay, but quite a walk from the bus stops and main areas, so expect quite a walk. The balcony is also only big enough to fit a tiny metal bistro table and 2 chairs, no room to actually sit or move around on. There is however a lovely terrace on the 4th floor with nice views of Taormina. I would not stay here again, but as I say, for the price, it’s cheap and cheerful, but did not even live up to a 2 star hotel in reality.
