25.12.10Izumo Hotel The Cliff just might be my favorite hotel experience in Japan so far through 15+ cities. The hotel is beautifully designed, the staff were amazing and so attentive, even checking on and accommodating my food allergies, and the views from the restaurant and room were incredible. Both sunset and sunrise with the moon in the background were surreal!
I didn't catch the name of the lovely waitress who went out of her way to write down some of her favorite places in the area (she spoke great English too!), but those kinds of small interactions mean a lot to me, so thank you! I didn't have time to eat at Heiwa since the wait was a bit long, but just another reason to come back and visit Izumo again c:
If you don't plan on driving, you'll basically need to take a taxi from Izumo or Oda station, but the staff were wonderful and reserved a taxi for me for the morning of my departure. Kirara beach is a really nice 30-35 minute walk down the road, enjoying the beachline and crashing waves along the way, highly recommend checking it out!
Couldn't have asked for more in my one day in Izumo, I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you have the chance, and I will definitely be back to enjoy the area and check out those recommendations. Thank you for your hospitality!

25.09.04This is an incredible hotel. Although it's located far from the city area and cost us 5k yen in the taxi (per trip), but I think it was worth it. We stayed in a Villa; first floor has a separate bathroom with wet and dry areas. a double queen beds bedroom + a Japanese Tatami bedroom. There's also a jacuzzi and sauna provided at 1st floor backyard, a perfect area for BBQ and family gatherings. Of course, the sunset and endless ocean view are out biggest draw. Then left side of 2nd floor houses a spacious kitchen and dining room. I have to say this hotel is thoughtfully designed. The glass window in front of the dining room offers a beautiful view of the ocean, which is truly relaxing. Right side of the 2nd floor houses the living room (karaoke system provided) and a 2 single beds bedroom that perfect for our kids. Although hotel location is far from city, there is no need to worry about being bored here. About a 10-minute walks to the right, you'll find a beach park that perfect for strolling the dog, watching the sunset and feeling the ocean breeze, and listening to the crashing waves, all worries vanished in second. My daughter even said she wanted to freeze the time, to continue enjoying in at this wonderful, amazing, moment. After enjoying all this, we hiked back to the left of the hotel, it was a Michelin-starred restaurant with absolutely delicious western cuisine and stunning ocean views. all at a very reasonable price (with breakfast included too). THIS NIGHT WS TRULY AMAZING!!!
