Motel 6 Butte - Historic City Center

Use caution if you choose to stay at this location. Over the course of a week stay here I was awakened by staff early on my second day informing me that I had to change rooms due to a gas leak with the hot water heater. Unhappy, but not wanting to be injured or die, I obliged. While in the room I was moved to, I had to get my room key remade daily because it wasn't made to work for my originally booked dates. No hint of any sort of compensation or apologies were offered for the major inconveniences that were no fault of my own. To make matters worse, after check out, I was called by someone from this location informing me that I owed them money and that they had found illegal substances in my room and they tried to charge me an additional $150. So, not only was I not offered any sort of compensation for the failure of the hotel to provide what I originally paid for, they also had the gall to be accuse me of a crime. Oh, and I originally booked a double queen room, only to be placed initially in a single queen, then upon the gas leak move, a single king. This is an incredibly unprofessionally run location that I will never be a patron of again. Sure, it's budget friendly, but in the end, it'll cost you more than just opting to pay a little more for a room closer to town.
