We stayed here and got a room with a private outdoor hot spring bath. The view was gorgeous, the mountain air felt great, and you could really take in the minerals of the hot spring; you can feel it in the scent. The room was spacious and overall a great place for couples. Even in January, the temperature and colors of the outdoors were great. Very friendly staff, too. The staff we spoke to spoke in English and if there's a langauage barrier, they have written documents in English as well, so don't feel intimidated from heading up here in the mountains away from major cities. Great breakfast, too. I'd recommend it if you're ever in the area and want a private bath experience in Japan.

한국인분들 후기가 없어, 처음에는 정말 고민을 많이 했었습니다. 하지만 숙소 방문후 너무 만족하며 쉬다왔습니다. 위치는 렌터카를 이용하신다면 문제없을것 같습니다. 숙소 시설 및 풍경, 석식/조식 무엇하나 아쉬운게 없을만큼 너무 만족하며 쉬다왔습니다. 직원분들도 너무 친절하시고 일본어나 영어를 조금하신다면 소통에 전혀 문제가 없을것 같습니다. 다음에도 가고시마에 방문한다면 재방문의사 있습니다!

A really lovely stay at Amateras. Everything was perfect. We had the private rock onsen room which has an unobstructed view both during the day for Sakurajima and for the starry night sky. All the staff are friendly and courteous, ensuring we enjoy our stay as we were at home. We had fantastic clear night sky during our stay, with the milkyway above and plenty of shooting stars while enjoying the onsen. Nice interesting places nearby to visit, including Kirishima Jingu and Takachiho Farm.
