료칸 히노모토

It's a traditional Japanese house but it's not clean, the shower was terrible and the sink was damaged ,everywhere was something and dusty

I read some earlier reviews and thought they might have exaggerated and been unfair. Unfortunately, everything turned out to be true : Wifi available at limited hours Untidy reception area and stairway Cheap bed that creaks when you turn Unwashed pillow case and blanket Filmsy & tiny towels I stayed there for 7 nights and never once they cleaned my room. ( They just emptied the trash!). I think they should at least clean up once! Staying there was like a throwback to the 1950' when one was forced to live with a Japanese peasant family who disliked foreigners (I am a S/E woman) but made a living out of them. The old lady made me come up to my room and kept instructing me in Japanese until I made it known that I was tired and wanted to rest. I had to go down and fetched my luggage again. Why didn't she let me bring my luggage in the first place? This family is the epitome of the antithesis of typical Japanese courtesy and culture. Good points : Very near 2 convenience stores Very near 2 bus stops ( the opposite bus stop from the hotel goes to Kyoto station)

The owner limits internet to a few hours in the evening. One night, without explanation there was no internet. It went on the next evening. Owner non responsive to anything. Other than that, I liked the location and price
