We had one of the larger rooms, with the jacuzzi pool in the bathroom. It was beautifully kept, and a very comfy bed with evening turn down. The Sri Lankan breakfast really was good and very generous. We even got takeaway breakfast made for us to depart at 530am for an early flight home. The place is on a river, we did swim across the muddy water to the nearby beach which is rough water and a bit scruffy. This is a place for seclusion and relaxation, the pool is very small but to sit and play board games or cards is pleasant, it’s got a lovely colonial feel in the main building. The very bustling Galle is 10min by Tuk-Tuk.
Excellent hotel ,room and swimming pool. Staff were very friendly and the service in the dining room was very good. Room was spacious and clean. No alcohol sold on premises although hotel happy for you to buy and bring in from outside. My only gripe was that my bill got transferred locally into pounds sterling at a low conversion rate rather than in SL rupees. Be careful to tick the box on the credit card receipt to ensure you pay in local currency.Disappointing practice by the hotel; they should make this clear.
Fantastic hotel and staff that encourages you to relax and unwind. The staff was an absolute delight and were amongst the most friendliest of staff encountered as they ensured all our needs were taken cared off. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough...and finally, the food. Breakfast through to dinner was some of the best Sri Lankan that I’ve ever eaten!!!
I would love to come again , great experience , I must say that , it was my best decision to book this resort, hotel is not at all crowded, calm and cool place , staff is really helpful and nice . I was even asked morning breakfast choice, Thanks Expedia and thanks to villa republic hotel
Great service, clean and spacious rooms. Lobby and dining area had alot of mosquitoes though. Otherwise, it was a great stay/
