West Coast Motel

Great place to stay near Tofino! The location was excellent, only about a 30-minute drive to Tofino. The price was reasonable compared to other accommodations in the area, and the room was very clean and well maintained. I also really liked that the room had enough facilities to cook simple meals, which made the stay much more convenient. The harbor view from the room was beautiful and peaceful, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. Highly recommended!

The room was fine except there was nowhere to hang more than even a single coat, NO CHAIRS at all in the room, and generally nowhere to put stuff like your bags...But the biggest negative was the fact that there were two chairs right outside my door for people to sit and smoke! This is unacceptable and I'm guessing does not meet fire code or health regulations, not to mention the nuisance of people coming and going directly outside the room door. Really kind of unbelievable: This is not your backyard where you can casually throw your cigarette butts into an empty beer can. Nonsense. Also the attached 'Pool' and gym were open to the general public which is okay, but not well managed. Didn't use the Gym. The Pool was small (which is okay) and kind of run down, barely passable for swimming. However my experience in the change room for these facilities was disgusting. First of all there were two drunken individuals openly drinking beer, staggering around and talking at the top of their voices. Drinking beer is fine but not in a private paid for space and certainly being obviously drunk and interfering with other people's peace and quiet is not acceptable. WTF are the management doing at this place? On top of this interference the changing room was so small and ill equipped that there was only one small place to sit and change out of my swim suit. And guess what? These two drunken individuals had their bags and clothes all over the bench and hooks for clothes and sitting. There was absolutely NOWHERE to change out of my swim suit. I had to stand and hop on one foot in front of the urinal in order to get changed all the while avoiding the drunken stumble bums. Really ridiculous. Clearly this place caters to the locals and not it's paying hotel guests. I got similar feedback about he women's changing room from my travelling companion: Too small, nowhere to sit or hang your things (though luckily no inebriated folks), but there were two or three random people just sitting in the change room sipping water in the only place one might sit to put on their pants. Will not be back. This place must be desperate for any revenue they can get. Oh and 10 O'clock check out time: What's up with that? Never heard of it and I've stayed in hotels around the world...

The hotel was great, nice fitness, sauna and pool, too bad no hottub. Overall, very good value and cozy! The staff let us use the microwave in the office which was nice!

I enjoyed my stay and the economical pricing of my room. The location was excellent with a view of water.

This is a very basic hotel. The rooms are tiny but clean. The bed is comfortable. The WiFi is terrific. If you are staying in Ucluelet this is a fine place to stay.
