24.08.01We had a great stay at this spacious 2-bedroom apartment, perfect for our family of five. The staff was very helpful, especially when we needed a late check-out. The location is fantastic, with a tube station nearby. Highly recommended for families!
25.08.30I would like to share my unpleasant experience with my stay with this Aldgate City Apartments.
We have booked the captioned apartment for our stay from Aug 4 2025 to Aug 11 2025.
When my brother arrived at the apartment, he was refused access and was asked to pay a security deposit of 500 pounds before he was granted access. I would like to point out that the condition for paying such a high security deposit upon arrival was never mentioned in the booking website (although I noticed that they had subsequently added this NEW condition in the website). Since we were all travelling from different parts of the world for this reunion, it was a nuisance that we encountered this hurdle after such long and tiring travel.
It was unfortunate that my brother did not have sufficient cash at hand because we were not aware of this new requirement, he was stranded for six hours in the corner of the concierge. Only until I arrived and paid for the security deposit in full, we were allowed access to the apartments. What was more surprising was that we observed other guests were able to check-in without being asked to pay for the security deposit. When we asked the attendant why the treatments were different, the answer was that “these guests were special”! It was stunning how they exhibited discriminatory treatment.
This was very unpleasant experience that the host imposed new conditions which took us by surprise. The way of their handling was also causing extreme nuisance and inconvenience to us.
I would urge the Agoda platform to seriously scrutinize the information being posted by the different hosts to ensure they are precise, accurate and complete. The hosts should honor whatever conditions posted as at the time of the booking, and not introduce new and inconsistent conditions ad hoc.

25.03.15Even though the apartament is very nice, they cane Up with the demand of paying 500£ in cash for depósit, which was not in the conditions of my confirmation. Also some customers said they could not get their money back...
24.10.07밤 늦게 9시경 도착해서 사람이 데스크에 없어서 연락을 했고 20분쯤 기다린후 사람이 도착 했는데 예약한 금액에 40% 에 해당하는 500 파운드 디파짓을 요구해서 저희는 디파짓 사항을 모르고 있어서 아고다에 문의를 했습니다
아고다 에서 답변이 주인이 요구하는 사항이라
500 파운드를 내야 한다는 답변이 있어 크레딧 카드을 주자 현찰 아니면 객실을 줄수 없다고 해서 밤 11시에 주변에 있는 숙소를 찾아서 묵을수 밖에 없었습니다
여행을 많이 다녀 봤지만 현찰 디파짓을 요구하는 숙박업소는 처음 봤고 직원의 태도가 매우 불량하고 위협적 이었습니다
저희는 지금 다른 숙소를 찾아 예약을 다시 했고 돈을 이중으로 지불해서 아고다 측과 해결중에 있습니다
24.08.23The apartment is quite modern and the caretaker Mehdi is very nice.
This is probably where it stops though. The GBP 500 cash is a sour taste as soon you get in then you get hit with a GBP 60 as a cleaning fee. The apartment has basic amenities. The mattress are the worst! Extremely soft and uncomfortable. Gave me a back and neck pain. The other thing is that the apartment gets extremely hot and stuffy. Probably not an issue in winter months. Mehdi was kind enough to give us a fan though. Wouldn’t recommend so be warned
