26.02.01We arrive as a group of three kiwis and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shiga Swiss. Meals were buffet style and high quality. Beers and rtds available 24/7. Had a blast in the communal areas mingling with other guests and watching Sumo Wrestling on the tele. The real standout here was the traditional Japanese ski lodge vibes as well as extremely dedicated and hard working staff - very impressed and good English spkoen as well. Thank you Shiga Swiss we will be back
25.03.26the place is messy and doesn't have facilities as advertised. The staffs were rude when i decided to change hotel
25.02.12Out in middle no where no restaurants or anything stuck unless u have car no internet in room only in reception area and is not working there properly and staff tells me its my device but after one hour waiting to connect she fixed there internet. And cant get lift to bus between 11 am and 3pm ridiculous
24.12.29Hotel is too old and location is bad. Everything in this hotel are worn out and outdated. Room without shower and no electric toilet seat like most other hotel. Onsen is very worn down and some shower taps are broken. Foods is very basic and run out very quickly when there are more guests. Feels like the hotel is shorthanded and understaffed. Location is horrible as my 2WD car cannot be driven to the hotel parking and has to park up the slope. I was unaware of the drive warning when I first come to the hotel as Agoda sniffed off the picture that says no 2WD allowed. Ended up with paying the hotel staff 10k JPY to toll my car up the slope. The hotel is situated in the middle of the ski slope next to ski lift 17. We have to make sure to get back to the lift by 16:30 before it stops. Otherwise we may be stuck in the ski field.
24.08.05We visited Japan so our kids could ski for the first time and see snow! Shiga Swiss Inn was perfect. It was amazing to ski out of the inn, straight onto the slope. Our room was simple and older but very clean and convenient. The meals were very prompt and very good. We were not used to the format of the ski slope culture and got stuck for lunch on the first day when the kids were learning to ski. We were not yet on the slope and there is no lunch or anything to eat at the hotel. Staff was helpful in solving our many problems caused by our own poor planning (e.g. we expected there would be an atm and there was not). As non-Japanese we found communication with the hotel challenging. But overall it worked out. We would stay there again if the opportunity arose. :-)
