"BIO (Batonship Inn Osaka)" is a refurbished Nagaya inn run by the building rehabilitation activity Batonship. It is located in a complex facility called "Kitanaga" (abbreviated as KITANAGA), which consists of 12 offices, stores, and accommodation facilities. Nagaya is a simple building that shares a wall with the next door, and each dwelling unit has an independent entrance, which is a kind of apartment house. This traditional Japanese dwelling has contributed to the formation of a rich community and culture in the region, but it is decreasing year by year due to aging and other reasons. Still, there are still many Nagaya in the Kinki region, especially in downtown Osaka. Kita's Kita Nagaya is a new method of reusing Osaka Nagaya.
