Facilities were clean, with some in-room modern updates. The room was a tad smaller than expected, with a few basic essentials lacking (i.e. 2 pillows provided per 1 queen bed; 1 small trash can provided for the entire room, bathroom included; no rack provided for towels; and only one bedside table. However, the overall cleanliness of the facilities, and especially the friendly, professional, and extremely helpful staff members behind the counter is what truly made my stay wonderful! Staff members went above and beyond to assure my stay was the best it could be. I fully plan on future stays at this hotel.

Good no-tell place or place just to crash. No frills at all, but the staff were very friendly and responsive. Okay place for one night, especially since the room rate was exceptional.

This is my first time ever writing a review but what happened at Super 8 in Ionia on May 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM compelled me to speak up. While the room was clean and the general environment appeared tidy, the experience I had with the front desk staff—specifically a woman who identified herself as “Amanda”—was deeply disturbing and unacceptable. I cannot confirm if that is her real name but she was working the front desk at that time. Amanda was extremely rude, unprofessional, and demonstrated what I perceived to be racist and uncultured behavior. She clearly lacks both customer service skills and the experience required to handle basic guest interactions. Most alarmingly, she left her own white dog unattended in the hotel lobby for an extended period. This is a direct violation of Super 8’s own policies which clearly state that pets must not be left unattended. I personally witnessed the dog alone and went to the staircase to find someone to attend to it. I then called the front desk while still seeing the dog clearly and asked her to please remove the unattended dog from the lobby. She flat out denied the dog was there and hung up on me. When I confronted her about her attitude, she said I was wasting her time. This is not just bad service, it is a liability. The hotel administration can confirm everything I have stated by checking the security camera footage from that date and time. Amanda’s behavior is a threat to the hotel’s reputation and safety. She must be terminated. If this is the standard of service allowed at Super 8, guests have every reason to be concerned. I urge corporate management to take immediate corrective action before further damage is done.

Bathroom wasn't the cleanest. A/C had to be reset consistently. However swimming pool was terrific and clean!
