26.05.28We booked a staycation hoping to relax and enjoy our holiday, but unfortunately our experience at Intercity Hotel turned out to be one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever had.
First of all, our check-in time was supposed to be 3 PM, yet when we arrived, the receptionist simply asked us to sit and wait because there were “a lot of people waiting.” Honestly, that should not be the guests’ problem. We already had a confirmed booking, so why were we left waiting for another 30 minutes? What made it even more frustrating was that nobody even followed up with us. If we hadn’t gone back to the reception ourselves, they would have completely forgotten about us.
The disappointment didn’t stop there. The hotel only had 2 elevators, and one of them was out of service and apparently stuck for almost the entire day. Because of this, guests were forced to wait a very long time just to use the lift. Instead of enjoying our staycation, we wasted so much time standing around waiting for the elevator, which became extremely frustrating and inconvenient.
The swimming pool was also extremely small and overcrowded. Even with just 5–7 people in the pool, it already felt packed and uncomfortable, making it impossible to actually relax and enjoy the facilities.
To make matters worse, we asked to borrow saucers for a small cake celebration since we rented 3 rooms for 6 people. Shockingly, the hotel refused to give us more than one saucer. It was such a simple request, yet the staff handled it with zero hospitality or consideration for their guests.
Overall, the service, accommodation, and entire experience were extremely disappointing. What was supposed to be a fun and memorable staycation became stressful, inconvenient, and frustrating instead. Definitely not worth the money, and sadly, not a place we would recommend.
