25.09.30We had booked our stay from the 20th to the 26th to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A trip we were truly looking forward to. Tragically, just a week before our travel date, we lost our daughter to depression.
In the middle of our grief, we reached out through Agoda and asked the property if they could offer booking credits or even a partial refund. Agoda was understanding and willing to help, but unfortunately, it was the property that declined our request without any consideration.
We even went the extra mile, we wrote a message explaining our situation and had it translated into Korean to avoid any miscommunication. We also sent them a copy of our daughter’s death certificate, hoping they would understand the gravity of our loss and show some compassion.
Sadly, we were met with silence and refusal. We understand that businesses have policies, but humanity should come before profit. This wasn’t just a cancelled vacation, it was a time of mourning and unimaginable pain.
We’re deeply disappointed by the lack of empathy shown. A little kindness would have gone a long way. We sincerely hope the property learns to treat future guests with more understanding and heart, especially in times of real tragedy.
저희는 결혼기념일을 축하하기 위해 20일부터 26일까지 숙박을 예약했습니다. 정말 기대했던 여행이었지만, 여행을 일주일 앞두고 저희는 믿을 수 없는 비극을 겪었습니다. 우울증으로 인해 딸을 잃게 되었습니다.
깊은 슬픔 속에서 저희는 아고다를 통해 숙소 측에 예약 크레딧이나 일부 환불이라도 가능할지 정중히 요청드렸습니다. 아고다 측은 이해를 보이며 협조적인 입장을 보였지만, 안타깝게도 숙소 측에서 아무런 고려 없이 요청을 거절하였습니다.
저희는 상황을 최대한 잘 전달하고자 직접 메시지를 한국어로 번역해 보냈고, 딸의 사망진단서도 첨부하여 상황의 심각성을 설명드렸습니다. 조금의 배려나 공감을 기대했지만, 돌아온 건 무반응과 단호한 거절뿐이었습니다.
물론 규정이 있다는 것은 이해합니다. 하지만 사람의 마음을 헤아리는 배려는 규정으로 정할 수 없는 것입니다. 이번 취소는 단순한 일정 변경이 아닌, 말로 표현할 수 없는 슬픔 속에서 내려진 결정이었습니다.
숙소 측의 공감 부족에 매우 실망했으며, 앞으로는 이런 비극적인 상황에 조금 더 따뜻한 마음으로 대응해 주시길 진심으로 바랍니다.
25.11.06This hotel has great location. Near bus stops and subway station entrances, good selection of restaurants and coffee places, as well as convenience stores.
For the price though, room is small (but clean), guests have access to the water dispenser/ice machine and microwave in common areas. I didnt like that cleaning is done every 2 days and they missed cleaning our rooms 2x. The other issue is they dont have proper bath towels,. Just the size of work out towels.
The staff was friendly and even if they didnt speak a lot of English, they were very patient with us in using a translation app to communicate.
Overall experience is ok. The hotel location really made it very easy for us move around Seoul.
